DHS Class of 2013 Graduation Ceremony

7:30 p.m.
Gates:
The public access gates for the commencement ceremony will open at 6:00 p.m.
Dress code for Graduates:
Gentlemen: Collared shirt, NO blue jeans, NO tennis shoes.
Ladies: Dress or pant suit (Appropriate for school), NO flip flops, CAUTION on high heels.
You will receive your parking pass at practice.
Graduate Behavior:
This is a formal ceremony. Please be on your best behavior and act appropriately. No cell phones, no talking, etc. No sunglasses or lettering on your graduation cap. You will be searched for any inappropriate items. If you take a camera; we will not be responsible if it is lost or stolen.
Guest Information:
Guest seating at the ceremony is on a first come, first serve basis; tickets will NOT be issued. There is no reserved general seating,and guests are respectfully requested not to save seats for others.To preserve the dignity of the ceremony and the safety of those in attendance, guests are not permitted on the football field at any time. Alcoholic beverages, musical instruments (air horns, etc.), coolers, bags, backpacks, glasses, cans, thermoses, ice chests, picnic baskets, umbrellas, baby strollers, beach balls, balloons, and other inflatable items are prohibited and may be confiscated by staff. No one carrying alcoholic beverages will be allowed entry to the ceremonies. All visitors are subject to search of person and belongings.
COMMENCEMENT ETIQUETTE:
- Plan to arrive on time.
- Take directions from the ushers.
- Sit close to others so all guests may be seated.
-Please refrain from making unnecessary trips up and down the bleachers – this is a security
and safety issue and the noise also interrupts others enjoyment of the ceremony.
- Do not cross from one side of the field to the other.
- The use of cellular phone is disruptive to both participants and guests. Please refrain from using all phones and pagers during the procession and ceremony.
- Deming Public Schools Facilities are tobacco-free environments. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.
Parking:
Free parking will be available on campus for Commencement. Public Safety officers will direct guests to the most accessible areas. Overflow parking will be provided by the Methodist Church and Deming Senior Citizens Center.
Weather:
The Commencement ceremony is held outdoors at the Memorial Stadium. The weather is normally sunny and very warm. Dress in cool,comfortable clothing. Umbrellas are not permitted as they obstruct the view of the ceremony. Inclement weather is possible, so please prepare accordingly and remain flexible if a delay or postponement is necessary.
